Anxiety disorders, which one?
There are several known and diagnosable anxiety disorders. These anxiety disorders include:
Specific phobia (airplane, closed spaces, spiders, dogs, cats, insects, etc.)
Panic disorder and agoraphobia (fear of being in situations from which there is no quick escape)
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder
Social phobia
Separation Anxiety (fear of being separated from the people whom they are attached to)
Generalized anxiety disorder (GAD)
Generalized anxiety disorder, what causes it?
Generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) is a psychiatric disorder characterized by the presence of anxiety symptoms. Symptoms that are not related to a specific cause but are in fact "generalized". The state of anxiety is chronic even if it is alternated with moments of increased intensity also called anxiety attacks. Those suffering from GAD tend to be constantly alert and worry excessively. Without anxiety counseling, this causes a significant reduction in the quality of life over time.
As with many disorders, GAD is also referred to as a multifactorial genesis disorder. This means that psychological, biological, and environmental variables can cause the disorder. Often, the anxiety is related to environmental events such as a stressful situation, problems at work, relationships, and/or family issues. Sometimes, the origin of GAD is not always clear. The symptoms are not immediately referable to environmental stressors. In these situations, you don't know why you feel anxious, or what triggers this feeling. In such cases, anxiety is accompanied by the discomfort of not knowing why one always feels anxious.
Generalized anxiety disorder is often found along with other psychiatric disorders. In fact, it is common to find a correlation between GAD and depression or other mood disorders. A diagnosis of generalized anxiety disorder can be made if a person does not meet the diagnostic criteria for a different anxiety disorder. GAD will not be a viable diagnosis if the anxiety symptoms can be attributed to another cause such as a physical disorder, neurological condition, or substance use disorder.

Methods used in Anxiety Therapy.
Once anxiety is diagnosed, there are various methods that can be used in an attempt to treat the condition. Some of the most frequently offered treatments are cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychoanalytic therapy, medication, or a combination of them. CBT therapy helps to understand the problems and triggers. Allowing for better control of the condition and an understanding of the origin of the negative feelings. From there, with the help of an anxiety therapist, you can eliminate the anxiety symptoms. Psychoanalytic therapy, or talk therapy, works on the personality at a profound level. Helping to understand the reasons leading to the psychic symptoms that you are suffering from.
Research shows that therapy for anxiety and adopting a healthy lifestyle can have a positive impact on anxiety treatment. Some things that help create a healthy lifestyle include mindfulness, physical activity, and quality sleep. Combining these healthy practices with attending anxiety counseling is the first step to regaining a life without excessive worry and anxiety.
